Last ultrasound!

Today was our last ultrasound appointment. Madelyn's head is very low in my pelvis and she didn't feel like moving, so the tech had a hard time getting any good pictures of her head. Best guess is that she weighs 5 1/2 pounds and her ventricles measure around 1.3cm. I am not sure how accurate any of the information is, but it means that her ventricles have remained stable. Dr. O'Hara was happy with the report from the neurologist and didn't have any concerns. She said Madelyn can be delivered vaginally, so I am glad I won't need to have a C-section. At my ObGYN appointment yesterday I was 3 cm and 85% effaced. We have just a few things around the house to do before she comes! 3 weeks to go! (or less..)

Getting closer!

5 weeks until Madelyn's due date! We are excited to meet her soon. A few weeks ago, we had our monthly ultrasound. Madelyn weighed about 4 1/2 pounds. The level of amniotic fluid around her was in the normal range. Her ventricles measured 16.9mm, although it was difficult for the tech to get many pictures of her head because her head is so low. The only other finding was that her humerous bone (in her arm) measured shorter than it should be. Sometimes too much information isn't a good thing and causes more worry than anything! All of her other measurements were normal. I think we will have only one more ultrasound before she is born.

Starting next week I will be seeing my OB-GYN doctor every week. He isn't sure if I will need to have a C-section, so we will discuss this with the perinatologist at the end of the month. He is concerned about the stress on Madelyn's brain with a vaginal delivery. That is it for now!
